About Compare Schools USA
Compare Schools USA helps families find a public school and see how its state test results compare with similar schools in the same state. It covers public schools in 43 states and the District of Columbia. We're working on getting school-level test results for the other seven states (Alaska, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Texas, West Virginia and Wyoming) and will add them when we have the data.
Where the data comes from
Test results come from the files each state education agency publishes. School details (address, grades, enrollment and free or reduced-price lunch) come from the U.S. Department of Education, National Center for Education Statistics, Common Core of Data (CCD). Every school page names its sources and the school year of every figure.
We publish the states' figures unchanged. Our scores are our own calculation, explained in how we score schools. They aren't official ratings, and they don't replace a state's own accountability ratings.

Who we are
Compare Schools USA is published by Flouri App Limited, which also publishes Compare My School for schools in England. We're independent and not affiliated with any government agency or school.
